Chronolace Studies (in-progress)

Chronolace studies explores handmade lace as a medium for pre-cinema devices and excavates technologies that could have been invented, but never were. The open-ended material research process deals with implications of the socially constructed gendering of material practices and of the historical exclusion of women and “women’s work” from official sites of tinkering and invention.

The images below show fragments of the research process. From the CrossSections_PERSPECTIVES exhibition, curated by Basak Senova, Konstfack, Stockholm, 2 – 15 October 2019.
